1. The weather has a good deal moderated— Sent and received visiting cards as usual on New-Year’s day. Spent the Evening at M. d’Engeström’s, in a large company. I did not stay to supper— Played whist with Countess Moltke, her sister, Madame de Prittwitz, and Madame de Zastrow— The Miss Brown’s spent a couple of hours with Mrs: Adams.
